Photographers are often inspired by the qualities and characteristics of spiral forms. Andy Goldsworthy has created spirals in the natural landscape and photographed the results. Yuval Cadmon has photographed spiral forms by recording the movement of light. Many photographers produced images of spiral forms found in architecture and nature.

My Spirals:
In this photo i can see two different spirals, one is a circle which looks like shield and the other looks like a ceramic pot and a golden trophy. I can also see dancers because of their figured outline.
The processes that have been done to make this is constant dancing with a good equipped camera with long shutter speed settings, one thing i can definitely infer is that exposer was a long time for maybe 1 min or 50 seconds, possibly long. Another thing is both images have the same tone and must have been taken in a dark room with only the light on the dancers. The most interesting thing about this image is how smooth the movement has been captured and the space of the image is constant rotations but not randomly. possibly a dance routine by a dancer or gymnast , and different types of movement from high to low to get all around the image in one specific spot also to be captured on the camera. If i could improve this image i would add different colours to make it stand out and maybe add more different movement instead of spinning but to also stick to making a spiral. I can remember this photograph for future ideas because of the movement, i would like to try it myself. The idea of pottery came from the shape and knowing something or someone was rotating for a long period of time to make this kind of shape, the atmosphere if i was in this image would be passionate of the person wanting to photograph the dance routine to show and share with others. Lastly if i had a chance to ask the photographer any questions it would be : - What inspired you to create this image and did you ever see yourself being a famous photographer when you was younger and why? |
I choose this pictures because they stood out to me as a different type of spiral , i also found it interesting to explore even more as my next idea or a piece of research.
